Statoil Gina Krog and Johan Sverdrup Hot Taps

As part of Gina Krog and Johan Sverdrup field developments Statoil (Killingøy/”PRS”) is currently working towards two new hot-tap projects; “Zeepipe IIA” 40x12 (year: 2017) and “Johan Sverdrup” 30x12 (year: 2018).

Statoil is developing the Gina Krog oil and gas field, formerly known as Dagny, with a platform resting on the seabed, the development wells will be drilled with a jack-up drilling rig.

As part of Gina Krog field development gas injection will be required.  It has been decided to use gas from Zeepipe IIA for this purpose and a retrofit tee hot tap tie-in solution will be installed on Zeepipe IIA in June 2017.

As part of Johan Sverdrup field development project it is required to export gas. It has been decided to export this gas to Kårstø processing facilities utilizing existing Statpipe transportation system. Hence a retrofit tee hot tap tie-in solution will be installed on Statpipe S31 in June 2018.

Clear Well Subsea’s scope includes the provision of design engineering for new cutter groups, the development and testing of the new cutter groups, Hot Tap Cutting Unit (HTCU) status review and development of a maintenance programme for the HTCU as well as ongoing engineering and project support for the two hot taps to be performed in 2017 and 2018.
