Banda Production Manifold

Project: Banda Field Development

Location: West Africa - Mauritania

Client: Proserve (Tullow Oil Mauritania)

Core Service: Design

Key Activity: Manifold Design

Duration: 4 Months

Project Synopsis:

Tullow Oil is developing the Banda field offshore Mauritania. The Banda Field is located approximately 80 Km. from the Mauritanian coast at a water depth of 230m, the subsea production facilities will comprise four production wells and a production manifold which will be linked to the shore side facilities via a 12” gas export pipeline.

Proserve tendered for the subsea production facilities, including the subsea xmas trees, manifold and associated diverless tie-in systems, CWS were approached in March 2013 to provide design and project support services for the provision of the subsea manifold and associated diverless tie-in systems.

CWS Solution and Scope Services:

The location and water depth of the Banda field required that trawl gear inter action be considered as a high probability event, coupled with the stringent over boarding weight restrictions required that the design be fully integrated considering not only the key function piping requirements but also the foundations and over trawl capabilities of the structure as prime requirements.

A low profile over trawlable manifold coupled to a piled and pinned foundation was adopted as the primary solution, side and end door sub-structures are removable enabling deployment after the principle structure and foundation piles enabling the stringent over boarding weight limits to be achieved.

The scope of supply included:

Preliminary design and analysis of principle piping structure and foundations, tie-in system screening and selection, review of fabrication vendors and facilities, development of presentation and animation for final presentation to client.
